Millibar favours everything that characterises the bar experience – the informal chatting and rapidly shifting seating.
Think of the typical bar, crowded with heavy barstools standing on four still legs. I wanted to get away from that chaos. With Millibar I wanted to create a lighter and more elegant piece of furniture but one that still signified a very stable bar stool. And the design was intended to favour everything that characterises the atmosphere in a bar – the informal chatting and rapidly shifting seating. That's why the stool's stand swivels 360 degrees. And that's why the seal is in reinforced polyester mesh, a support offering good comfort. The fact that the seat acquires its shape when you sit in it I see as a major advantage – the user in effect becomes the designer, not me.
