When I designed Mini I wanted to give it the same qualities as any larger stool.
A chair should convey strength and comfort. But does that apply even to a simple barstool? When I designed Mini, a smaller sister to Millibar, I wanted to give it the same qualities as any larger stool. Primarily this meant converting the spindly shape into an advantage. I managed that by means of a bend in the runners and footrest. That little detail was enough to give the stool both character and stability, and also create a very attractive pattern when you have several of them in a row. That and the seat of industrial felt. There I was free to play with organic lines and have the stand be just as slim and restrained as necessary.
